Skills and Employment

James Farr – Head of Employment (Acting)

Jointly appointed by the Greater Manchester Health Commission and New Economy, James is leading work to develop and deliver a health and employment work programme for Greater Manchester.

Building on the findings of a ‘call for evidence’ around health and work in the city-region, the programme will set out how Greater Manchester organisations will better support employers and individuals to reduce ill-health related worklessness. By supporting more people to get fit for work, the programme will boost the local economy by raising employment levels as well as help reduce health inequalities in our most deprived areas.

James’s role requires close partnership working with a wide range of organisations, most notably the NHS, Department of Work and Pensions, local employers and the regional Health, Work and Wellbeing Co-ordinator.
