Worklessness Monitor Release
Today, New Economy released its quarterly Worklessness Monitor, a high-level report on the state of unemployment and inactivity in Greater Manchester. The Worklessness Monitor is part of a wider range of products that will be rolled out throughout the year, and will be accessible on-line.

Worklessness Monitor – December 2009
The most recent Worklessness Monitor highlights the continued increase in total benefit claimants up to May 2009 in Greater Manchester. The total benefit claimant rate increased to 19.9% (322,680 claimants), whilst the total worklessness rate – which includes both unemployed and inactive individuals – increased to 30.0%.
