Commission and AGMA announce delivery partner for Greater Manchester Future Jobs Fund
The Commission for the New Economy and the Association of Greater Manchester Authorities (AGMA) are pleased to announce that Manchester Solutions Limited has been appointed as the delivery partner for the Greater Manchester Future Jobs Fund (FJF) programme.
The Future Jobs Fund is a national initiative announced in this year’s Budget that aims to create 150,000 additional jobs across the country, primarily aimed at 18-24 year olds who have been out of work for nearly a year to deliver real benefits to communities. The Future Jobs Fund in Greater Manchester is one of the most ambitious in the country, providing £52 million of funding to support 8000 people back into work. The programme will run until March 2011.
Commenting on the appointment of Manchester Solutions, Mike Emmerich, chief executive of the Commission for the New Economy, said: “AGMA and the Commission are absolutely determined to support as many young people into employment as possible, as well as making sure we reach into those areas where long-term unemployment is concentrated. In order to ensure the successful delivery of our FJF programme we needed to find an equally motivated partner. Manchester Solutions has responded to our bold call and we look forward to working with them to realise our aspirations over the next two years.”
Richard Guy, chief executive of Manchester Solutions, added: “We are delighted to have been chosen as the partners to work with AGMA and the Commission on the delivery of the Greater Manchester Future Jobs Fund. An understanding of the importance of investing in the skill-base of Greater Manchester is key to our business, and we feel that this, combined with our track record of delivering apprenticeships, recruitment and training, will be invaluable in our successful delivery of this ambitious project.”
