Manchester Innovation Investment Fund
New Economy manages the Manchester Innovation Investment Fund, a £7m strategic partnership between the Northwest Regional Development Agency (NWDA), National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts (NESTA) and Manchester City Council.
The Manchester Innovation Investment Fund is a unique approach to city-region innovation in the UK. It is targeted at strengthening and developing the innovation ecosystem, supporting feasibility studies into innovative ways of working, developing projects and promoting major interventions against a thematic background.
The Fund is informed by the findings of the Manchester Independent Economic Review and by the priorities of the Greater Manchester Strategy.
The Innovation Investment Fund has awarded grants to a number of projects including: Manchester International Festival; Manchester:Integrating Medicine and Innovative Technology; and Manchester Masters, which is working to support graduate retention in the region.
