Today LinkedIn, the world’s largest professional network, and the Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) launched Greater Creators, a new report containing a detailed snapshot of skills and employment in the Greater Manchester region.
The report was launched by Tony Lloyd, Interim Mayor of Greater Manchester; Councillor Sean Anstee; Councillor Kieran Quinn; Theresa Grant, Trafford Council's chief executive; Josh Graff, LinkedIn's UK country manager and Matt Hancock MP, Minister for the Cabinet Office and Paymaster General.
The report uses the workforce data held by LinkedIn – including current jobs, past jobs, education and skills – to analyse Greater Manchester’s labour market in specified areas and sectors. LinkedIn has 614,000 individual members in Greater Manchester and 50,000 companies, giving a good level of coverage of the conurbations' labour market, particularly in sectors such as financial & professional services, public administration & education, and tech/telecoms.
The report is the beginning of a long-term strategic relationship with LinkedIn, entitled #ProjectManchester with the aim of supporting residents already working in Greater Manchester, or those looking to work in the city region, to advance their skills and careers.
