Apprenticeships are at the heart of the Partnership’s work plan, with ambitious targets for the city-region and a delivery plan which encompasses employers, training providers and young people. For example, we will focus on creating more Higher Level Apprenticeships in areas where Greater Manchester is growing.
The National Apprenticeship Service has a wealth of information on it to help you understand what an apprenticeship is, what levels and types are available, funding and wages, and much more! They have created a downloadable guide to Apprenticeships which you can access here.
There are currently a number of financial incentives available when you take on a young person as an apprentice, including the GM Commitment; the National Apprenticeship Service AGE grant; and the DWP Youth Contract wage incentive.
